Maria Gabriela Pittis - Takeda - MAR President (Southern Cone, Andean Region, Mexico & CAC) 

Maria Gabriela is a Biologist from the University of Buenos Aires and holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the same University. She is also a graduate of the Management Development Program in Business Administration from the IAE Business School in Buenos Aires. 

Maria Gabriela has served, among others, as Project Manager of Medical Sciences LATAM, Associate Director of Medical Affairs LATAM and Head of LATAM Region at Shire. She has over 25 years of experience in the business of rare genetic diseases, high specialty and orphan drugs in Europe and Latin America. Likewise, her experience includes research and development, corporate and business integration, cultural transformation, strategic planning, geographic expansion, alliance management, patient support programs and participation as a key opinion leader.

Currently, she serves as the President of SAM (Southern Cone, Andean Region, Mexico & CAC) at Takeda, where she is responsible, among other things, for Takeda's business in LATAM (except Brazil), the integration of the two main pharmaceutical companies, building a strong culture that has led to becoming an innovation-focused company, divesting non-core businesses, and updating the geographical product strategy in the region. 

Maria Gabriela is highly focused on delivering concrete results while ensuring optimum return on investment. She is recognized for her leadership and engagement skills, for being a hard worker, team player, and someone who inspires passion in others. Additionally, she is driven to make a positive impact on people's lives by providing solutions to patients with life-altering conditions.
