regional&nbsp;political&nbsp;and&nbsp;technical&nbsp;platform&nbsp;created&nbsp;by&nbsp;PAHO&nbsp;to&nbsp;coordinate&nbsp;all&nbsp;the&nbsp;actors&nbsp;involved&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;HIV response,&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;goal&nbsp;of:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilitating&nbsp;the&nbsp;arrival&nbsp;of&nbsp;new&nbsp;prevention,&nbsp;diagnostic, and&nbsp;treatment&nbsp;tools, and&nbsp;expanding&nbsp;their&nbsp;use&nbsp;across&nbsp;countries.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promoting&nbsp;greater&nbsp;regulatory&nbsp;harmonization\u2014meaning&nbsp;that&nbsp;approval&nbsp;processes&nbsp;across&nbsp;countries&nbsp;become&nbsp;more&nbsp;aligned&nbsp;and&nbsp;avoid&nbsp;duplicating&nbsp;efforts.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Driving&nbsp;predictable&nbsp;and&nbsp;sustainable&nbsp;financing&nbsp;mechanisms, so&nbsp;that&nbsp;programs&nbsp;don&#8217;t&nbsp;depend&nbsp;on&nbsp;budgets&nbsp;that&nbsp;change&nbsp;from&nbsp;year&nbsp;to&nbsp;year.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;regional&nbsp;picture&nbsp;according&nbsp;to&nbsp;PAHO and UNAIDS figures (2025):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-latin-nbsp-america\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Latin&nbsp;America<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 2025,&nbsp;approximately&nbsp;150,000 new HIV&nbsp;infections&nbsp;were&nbsp;recorded\u201417% more&nbsp;than&nbsp;in 2010.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There&nbsp;were&nbsp;32,000 HIV-related&nbsp;deaths&nbsp;reported,&nbsp;representing&nbsp;a 46%&nbsp;reduction&nbsp;compared&nbsp;to&nbsp;that&nbsp;same&nbsp;year.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These&nbsp;figures&nbsp;show&nbsp;that&nbsp;treatment&nbsp;is&nbsp;working&nbsp;and&nbsp;saving&nbsp;lives.&nbsp;However,&nbsp;prevention&nbsp;still&nbsp;isn&#8217;t&nbsp;reducing&nbsp;new&nbsp;infections&nbsp;enough,&nbsp;which&nbsp;have&nbsp;remained&nbsp;largely&nbsp;stalled&nbsp;since&nbsp;2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-the-caribbean\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>The Caribbean<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between 2010 and 2024,&nbsp;the&nbsp;Caribbean&nbsp;reduced&nbsp;new&nbsp;infections&nbsp;by&nbsp;30% and&nbsp;deaths&nbsp;by&nbsp;65%.&nbsp;This&nbsp;is&nbsp;proof&nbsp;that&nbsp;the&nbsp;trend&nbsp;can
